 | 22nd Jun 2008 | Wellesbourne Wings and Wheels
A local airfield has a Vulcan bomber that's being restored to ground-running order. We went down to their open day to see and hear the taxi run, and to say Hi to the Phoenix Fives, who had a stand at the accompanying car show.

 | 20th Jun 2008 | Track day @ Llandow circuit
My first track event! The good-looking photos were captured by Miro from Headline Photography (http://www.headlinephotography.eu), the usual rubbish standard is by me. A full commentary and video are on my blog: http://www.davefield.org.uk/roadsterblog/2008/06/deep-end.html

 | 15th Jun 2008 | Supercar Sunday
Father's Day outing to the Heritage Motor Museum at Gaydon, for Supercar Sunday. What a top day out. I want a Tuscan, I want it in that exact colour and I want it *now*...

 | 26th May 2008 | Phoenix Fives Tech Day II
Tech Day! An opportunity to mess with cars, break things, and get very, very, very wet! More commentary here: http://www.davefield.org.uk/roadsterblog

 | 19th May 2008 | MX-5 Owner's Club Spring Rally + Stonehenge
Dan and I did a glorious, sunny, top-down road-trip to the MX5OC Spring Rally at the Haynes Motor Museum down near Yeovil, via the Fosseway, Salisbury Plain and Stonehenge.

 | 15th Sep 2007 | The Redpoint Climbing Centre
My mate Phil is opening a new indoor climbing centre in Birmingham. Having already built his website (http://www.redpointclimbingcentre.co.uk) and his membership software, I'm now helping out with the fit-out.

 | 30th Apr 2007 | Nathan Marcus Field
Our son, Nathan Marcus, was born at 6.37am on Monday 23 April 2007, via caesarian section. He weighed 2.99kg (6 and a half pounds). Following his birth, he needed assistance with breathing and circulation (amongst other things); he is still a little unwell and undergoing numerous tests, but he is now out of the incubator and doing really well. We are still waiting to find out a complete picture of his current condition and what led to it, but we have seen much improvement and we are very proud.

 | 4th Nov 2006 | iCount Stop Climate Chaos March
On the 4th November Dan and I joined a march from Russell Square, through the West End, to Trafalgar Square. We were part of a Liberal Democrats march in support of the wider campaign run by iCount that day. Trafalgar Square was packed solid, and when we arrived there was a free gig by K T Tunstall and Razorlight (and yes, we used public transport to get there and back!)

 | 19th Aug 2006 to 20th Aug 2006 | The MS Society Big Foot 50k sponsored walk 2006
When Dave and Garrett got hitched, Alice pledged to do this sponsored walk as a wedding gift (Dave suffers from MS). However, after getting psyched and fit for it, she discovered two weeks before the walk that she was pregnant with Nathan. So, I stepped up to do the walk, with no preparation and no training - and I did it! Here're a few snaps from the Costwold countryside around Cheltenham, taken over the two days of the event.

 | 23rd Jul 2006 to 27th Jul 2006 | Climbing at The Roaches
A whole bunch of climbing buddies spent four nights at the hut at The Roaches in North Staffordshire, celibrating Phil and Paula's wedding anniversary and climbing ourselves silly on lovely, lovely gritstone, and I was lucky enough to be there. Beautiful weather, great company, and did I mention the lovely grit?

 | 10th Jun 2006 | Climbing at Burbage North
After a looooong time putting it off, I went trad climbing with Phil and Paula (and, as it turned out, a lot of the other regulars from Warwick Uni wall). We had the crag more-or-less to ourselves, on account of the football and making a late start. Anyway, I overcame my nerves about placing my own gear (having had a really bad fall many years ago onto gear which I'd placed poorly - and which therefore unzipped the moment I hit it), led a Severe 4a and I even soloed a route! Wicked day out, climbing 'til the light went.

 | 2nd Jun 2006 | Backyard Astronomy
Inspired by our day at Jodrell, and a good sky that night, I took these by holding my camera to the eyepiece of my budget Newtonian reflector... and they're not half bad!
